Although I have been into classical music for decades, this DVD still gave me more insight into their lives and how/why they wrote the music. Thoroughly recommended.
Having watched the dramatised version of the end of Beethoven's life it was very interesting to watch this documentary on the reality behind it. I would have liked to have heard more perhaps on how some of the major pieces were put together or what lay behind more than the really famous ones, but got enough to keep me interested to the end. Definitely recommended if you're a Beethoven fan. I'm not really into Wagner so can't comment on his section of it.
