Despite the inevitable simplifications, this is a superbly pictorial rendering of a much-loved novel, with all the famous characters in safe hands and masterly judgement in every department.

Guys And Dolls actress Jean Simmons has died at the age of 80. The British star, who had been suffering from lung cancer for some time, passed away at her home in Santa Monica, California on Friday (22Jan10), a week before her 81st birthday, according to her agent.
