New Year's Eve
By a customer from Chesham, Bucks , 01 Jan 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
What better title to view on New Year's Eve - and this film had us thoroughly entertained for a couple of hours. Nevertheless, presenting such a complex novel well in so short a time is impossible, and here the actions of the characters sometimes seem irrational and unjustified as a result of the cuts.- Was this review helpful to you?

Old Fashioned
By a customer from England , 19 Mar 2007Not the best adaptation of this story - there are probably better versions out there. I found everything especially the acting very old fashioned. I would like to watch an updated version of this film.- Was this review helpful to you?

Dull
By a customer from London , 11 Mar 2006I'm afraid that this film does not begin to compare with the David Lean version. The whole thing lacks atmosphere from start to finish, with James Mason playing a very unconvincing convict.
Sorry! It did nothing for me.- Was this review helpful to you?
