Grey Gardens

What can I say about this masterpiece??
I would consider it a must-see, funny, courageous, unbelievable, and ultimately very, very sad. Its the story of Jackie Onassis' aunt and her daughter, 'Little Edie' who live in a beach house at Easthampton - and how the mighty have fallen. Once their summer residence, the pair have now fallen on hard times, and this is their permanent home, and what a story they have to tell. Its a fascinating insight into their lives, and how they are now (or were) coping with the situation they face. I would urge you to see this film.- Was this review helpful to you?

(22)Sweet eccentricity
By hamburglar (10 reviews) , 17 Mar 2013A touching story, beautifully filmed. These women are charming. There's a thin line between complete madness and utter brilliance and I believe this film crosses it. It isn't a documentary full of action, it is of a relationship between real eccentric women and how that has changed over the years.- Was this review helpful to you?

raccoon talk
By jenniferjuniper (6 reviews) , 08 Jan 2013When you see the raccoon damage at the end of the film it is evident that wherever this mother and daughter combo go the raccoons will follow. Its only sad if you force your own ideals onto how they should exist.- Was this review helpful to you?

Sourcing the Rufus Wainwright Sample
By LondonNick (17 reviews) from Brighton , 21 Dec 2011This film felt like it was exploiting two women who appear quite emotionally vulnerable. Maybe that was OK in 1975. 100 mins of home film footage of it is also pretty dull.
Still, nice to see where the Rufus Wainwright Grey Gardens sample comes from.- Was this review helpful to you?
