Forget the accents and the shabby sets, this is Disney at its delightful best. The true story of the Skye terrier who refused to desert its master after his burial in an Edinburgh kirkyard is irresistible, and is here never allowed to become maudlin or tacky for a second. Laurence Naismith, Donald Crisp and Kay Walsh judge their performances to perfection and director Don Chaffey does well to restrain the enthusiasm of the youngsters. But no one's eyes will be anywhere other than on the little dog. Don't be ashamed to cheer when he's granted the freedom of the city.

Adequately produced film of a charming old Victorian story.

    what a wonderful story

the story of bobby is a tale of a remarkable dog who loves old jock in life as in death.

I just think it's brilliant i could keep watching all day long, it is definetly a all round family and kids will just love his strength it will also make you weep, the scenery is pretty impressive and so are all the characters.

It is also a true story and if you love it as much as me then why not visit Edinburgh and see the statue to bobby out side Greyfriars kirkyard and while there call in at the grave yard to see the gravestone of the wee little dog you would not be dissapointed.

I hope you will like the film as i enjoy watching it. I would say all this would'nt i, but don't take my word watch it yourself and see if you feel like i do, as i know that you will fall in love with this wonderful little dog.

    A 3-handkerchief family film

An inspiring but heart-rending animal tale. Based on a true story, but not too saccharine for a Disney one.

Just right for a cosy family evening in.
