Probably the best thing that can be said here is that Bottom fans won't be disappointed: essentially, this is a slightly expanded, big-screen version of the TV series, with slightly better sets and plenty of cartoon violence. For the uninitiated, however, this has to be one of the worst TV spin-offs ever. Stars Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson have no one to blame but themselves for this puerile farce: Edmondson directs, from a script he co-wrote with Mayall. The story, for what it's worth, finds sociopaths Richie and Eddie running a revolting hotel in the shadow of a nuclear power plant.
