Guitar hero:greatest hits and its predeccessors are like the lego star wars games. great individual games, but you you may feel cheated when you buy the colaboration of the prior game's. However i look forward to trying 'through the fire and the flames' expert on drums.=] if your have rented or owned 2 or more of the previous guitar hero games. maybe this one isnt for you. ill give it 3 and a half stars just for the fact ive done all the songs before, other than that a 5-star game.

I played this game through with each instrument, and it was a real chore to complete the career mode more than twice. If you've played previous guitar hero games, the songs are all taken from those, but the choice of songs only occasionally feels like you are playing something really good. The one bonus is that it is now possible to play pre-Guitar Hero 3 songs on a Rock Band guitar, and they've also added the Drums and Vocals.

The guitar tracks on a lot of the songs have been changed from the original versions to allow for use of the neck slider, although this just helps to make them a bit easier when playing waterfalls and zig-zags.

If you are expecting to play online with random players, don't bother. Matchmaking takes a long time, as online is a ghost town. You will only get fun from this game playing the career, or with friends. Unfortunately, the career setlist isn't good enough to bring you back over and over again.

Definitely only a rental recommendation, as most people will probably play the career on guitar and bass, and then want to send it back.

excellent playing this game, as all previous GH games just was a little dated musically wise as my 16 yr old daughter did not know most of the tracks!

I was really looking forward to this game, but it was really dissapointing. The gameplay was very dull and didnt have the same exciting feel as World Tour did. I wouldnt recommend this and would advise people to either get rockband 1 or 2 or even guitar hero world tour instead, as these games are much better and have better songs on them.

I found this game to be the worst of the Spin Off Series of Guitar Hero, its only got like 50 songs and there selling it at Full Price.. Whats that about?, anyway the game only had a few like amazing songs, a few mediocre songs and the rest were terrible, the only reason i actually rented this game is ive finished Guitar Hero World Tour so many times so i just wanted a few new songs- this game is Not Worth the time especially due to the fact that you have to go back and complete every song you didn't choose to do!
