I did'nt realise this was a 'Dogme' movie until the certificate appeared at the beginning!
This could have been an unremittingly grim, miserable, po-faced little film, with a worthy, ranting message shoved down your throat.
This does'nt happen, mainly due I think, to an absolutely wonderful cast, who give the characters light and shade and life.
The story itself is very moving, not that far removed in tone from a Mike Leigh production, if you like his films, then I'd say go for this one. Extra special credit to both Pauline McLynn, Chloe Sirene and Rula Lenska for their wonderful portrayals.
