    [Highly rated reviewer]

Three interwoven stories, a la Robert Altman's short cuts - and filmed in a 'breaking the waves' style ..

Great acting performances all round, and Chloe Sirene (Tasha) is absolutely gorgeous!

  • This Gypo was well worth spending time with.

I can't quite understand the many negative reviews of this film. I found it to be an interesting and absorbing drama that was generally well acted. I, for one, enjoyed the non-linear storytelling of the film, it gave it identity and a sense of originality and creativity. A thoroughly engaging film.

Much of the film was unscripted and I feel that this really made the film something. Rather than overly articulate characters, you get a very believable working class family, with interesting characters, who are deeper than the usual 'goodies' and 'baddies'.

What makes it work is how most of the characters are irresponsible, or hypocritical, or bigoted... All of them seem frustrated, trapped in this insular and closed-minded seaside town. The fact that the film is portrayed from the perspectives of three people makes it all the more engaging.

If you want something dumbed down, easy to watch and saccharine sweet, you won't find it here. If you're looking for a gritty piece of cinema, with believable characters and which strays from the usual middle class, or glamourised working class image of Great Britain, check this out.

  • The structure of the movie wasn't good at all.

I give the 2 stars because it was good acting, but the movie keeps going to different times of the same story( back to front...front to back). I got lost and in the middle of the movie I wasn't sure what it was really happening.

The structure of the movie wasn't good at all.

    The acting was very good.

I also found the movie really depressing to watch. Didn't leave me a good feeling after watching it.

So I don't think I will watch it ever again.

Emotionally exhausting with a lot of shouting and could not be bothered to watch it to the end! I am normally a fan of improvised films but did not find the acting in this to be good enough to keep my interest. It could have done with a spot of comedy to relieve the intensity!

Not to sure about this film. a bit different. Not a must see but ok. Bearable to watch. Get a bit boring towards the end.
