So-so

The dot hack series have a tendency towards incredible storylines - SIGN and the first four games especially.
ROOTS has had a great, albeit occasionally confusing, story - up until this volume. It seems as if the writers suddenly realised they had to wrap things up within a few short episodes, so episodes 25 and 26 seem rushed. I'm hoping that when the .GU series of games comes out over here, the end of this series will make more sense, as the end of SIGN did when you played the first four games.
Not that my criticism should dissuade you from watching this - it's been a great series, and, although not as strong as .hack//SIGN, it has enough in it to keep itself interesting. There's a decent amount of humour, and if it was designed to set up the GU game series, then it's done its job admirably.- Was this review helpful to you?
