With the exception of H20 the sequels to John Carpenter's 1978 horror masterpiece have been universally awful. However, like the aforementioned 1998 version, this was the only one to feature the original star, Jamie Lee Curtis, and is a better film for it. Halloween II takes up where the original finished, with Curtis being taken to hospital still in shock, but before long her indestructible nemesis is stalking her around the wards. Carpenter had a hand in the script but this is a by-the-numbers retread and the direction of Rick Rosenthal lacks flair.
Rob Zombie tries hard to differentiate the second film in his rebooted Halloween series from the first. This is... read more on Time Out
You lot my be thinking that this film is bad because it is a sequel. THINK AGAIN
Another Boggy-Man rampage.
Some scenes of EXTREEM gore, namly the hot tub scene.
not as good as Halloween1, but it will do
I was rather dissapointed with this as Michael Myers becomes 'creative' in his killing using things such as needles scalples and drowns people in hot water. Hes also started slashing tyres. It seems hes started to think which makes him far to human. Not the hollow killer we grew to love in the original. Also this version of Carpenters classic Halloween music is pretty bad, being very synthesizer happy. That said there are a couple of nice moments like the Police car crash, the bloody tears from Myers mask and a good looking throat slash as well as one good Myers out of the shadows shot. Unfortunately theres not enough shadows, kitchen knives, or general creep factor as the Hospital this movies stationed in is pretty dull. A missed opportunity i thought.
