    Utter rubbish

This film sounded so very promising, moulding itself along the likes of The Orphanage or Pan's Labyrinth. Unfortunately it never delivers, after one and a half hours of waiting for something exciting or surprising to happen I came to the realisation that this was just one of those films that aspires to be something, but never reaches it's goal. The dialogue is drawn out and pretentious, the acting is weak, but visually it is beautifully photographed. Don't bother watching this dull fairy tale, as you might be better off going to an art gallery to look at a beautiful still print and still get more emotion out of that then this boring pointless film.

    Good modern fairy tale

Well acted and beautifully shot this is an effective modern interpretation of the classic fairytale. As long as you don't expect a faithful re-telling of the original, or a thrill a minute horror, you should find this almost as good as pan's labyrinth.
