Director Richard Benner scored a notable hit in 1977 with the Canadian gay/drag movie Outrageous, which spawned an equally successful sequel Too Outrageous ten years later. In between Benner delivered this adaptation of Albert Innaurato's hit Broadway comedy about a man coming to terms with his sexuality. The stage play had drawn accusations of homophobia for some of its more extreme moments but the film avoided all such problems. The late Madeline Kahn does some of her best work here but she is somewhat swamped by the overall dullness of the piece.
Abysmal teenage shocker which grinds on relentlessly for nearly two hours.
My wife asked me to get this film saying it was great, baring in mind she was only a kid when she first watched it.
Well ! it's ok, this film is for horror fans only, great picture and sound and the actors are known too, shame about the weak plot though,
I would give this a below average rating.
High budget slasher from 1980($3.5m) is put to fairly good effect by veteran british director J lee thompson(cape fear). The plot is well complicated to say the least but it does make sense in the end(although far fetched)The film is nicely paced and has some good performances by mellisa sue anderson(house on praire) and glenn ford(superman) the gore is light but it is not really that sort of slasher and i think the film all the better for that. There is one infamous scene involving a kebab skewer though which makes you wince.I have seen this film on original video a few years back and on dvd but strangely each film has different music,in my opinion the video one is the original and far better and creates more tension.I can only assume columbia had a different version of it when they put it out on dvd!The disc has no extras not even a trailer!! which is a shame. But it is recommended to fans of 80s horror.
