A really beautiful film

This is just a wonderful film. It's sad and brutal and I absolutely loved it. There is passion and beauty and Mr Miike is just a talent. The actors were brilliant and I can not think of one bad thing to say about it - it's just a beautiful film to watch and the 2 hours just zoomed by.- Was this review helpful to you?

Bushido -The code.

Action film it is not
By furelli (36 reviews) , 23 May 2013I did rent expecting an action film & was slightly disappointed that it wasn't, c'est La Vie. ok so it's a drama which is no bad thing however I found this overlong & drawn-out to the point of having to press the ffw button after about an hour. As others have said, acting is strong & scenes at times beautiful, but it jus wasn't for me right now & so wouldn't give it a bad rating hence the indifference of an 'it's ok'- Was this review helpful to you?

Excellent film.

The characters have real depth to them, unlike so much rubbish churned out from American studios these days. They really could learn something from the Japanese. The photography is awe inspiring as well. Particularly the colous in the changing of the seasons- Was this review helpful to you?
