A really beautiful filmBy Minny (573 reviews) from London , 02 Jul 2012
[Highly rated reviewer]This is just a wonderful film. It's sad and brutal and I absolutely loved it. There is passion and beauty and Mr Miike is just a talent. The actors were brilliant and I can not think of one bad thing to say about it - it's just a beautiful film to watch and the 2 hours just zoomed by.

The stupidity of honourBy RonM (2 reviews) , 02 Dec 2013An excellent film, not the usual blood and guts seen with Samurai films. Probably a good shot at historical accuracy, demonstrating the 'honour' of Samurai.
Nice but not SamuraiBy RoAndKo (2 reviews) , 17 Nov 2013A nice drama - however, this is Samurai and I'm an hour in and still no fight. I still only know what they already told me at the beginning. Even if there is now to be monumental revenge super action killing, it would just come all too late.
Emotional, brutal, wonderfulBy Ryan_S (2 reviews) , 01 Oct 2013Beautiful epic rendition on the theme of honour and what it truly meant to a Samurai. A truly wonderful film. As a new father emotionally touching on a personal level.
brilliant and sadBy cpc54 (1 review) , 22 Sep 2013Long time since a film moved me like this did, Beautiful and sad. Watch it then do not watch another film for a while let this out of your system first.
Honour is everythingBy whizzles (10 reviews) , 12 Sep 2013Beautifully shot film with fantastic character depictions. We caught completely caught up in it. One of the best films we have seen in a long time. Shone a light on the lives of those out of favour.
