Hard Time

Detectives, Logan McQueen and Charles Duffy stumble onto a drugs deal and decide to intervene. Logan chases the thugs having just snatched a bag full of drug money that belongs to notorious drug baron, Conrad Martin. After the mysterious shooting of one of the thugs and the disappearance of some of the recovered cash, all eyes turn to Logan, as his reputation for getting results have found him in trouble before. Thrown in jail and then abducted by Martin, it's only when Logan makes a deal to recover the rest of the cash that he releases him unhurt. Realising he is caught in the middle and trusting no one. Logan's investigation leads him to police corruption at the highest level. Logan now finds out who his enemies and friends really are as all hell breaks loose in this high tension cop movie ...

    Burt Reynolds reunites with Smokey and the Bandit director Hal Needham for this further adventure of Logan McQueen, the maverick ex-cop seeking to clear his name after a false murder rap. Burt and sidekick Charles Durning are called in when disgruntled Vietnam veteran Keith Carradine takes the family of a congressman hostage in a refurbished hotel. It's Die Hard meets The Negotiator on a TV-movie budget, but it's staged with sufficient brio by hardened old pros.

    Enjoyable

    In spite of not-very-inspiring description I enjoyed this film and watched a sequel on TV the following night. Not 5 stars but still entertaining !
