Harry Potter bird breeder jailed for neglect

A falconer who supplied birds of prey for the Harry Potter franchise has been put behind bars after pleading guilty to neglect. Kenneth Lea was jailed for 12 weeks on 17 charges of neglect involving over 51 specialist birds at his farm in Bradford, England. Publishers sued over potential Potter plagiarism

The estate of a penniless writer is suing the publishers behind J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter books, insisting they snubbed him and then used his idea as the basis for the boy wizard franchise. Adrian Jacobs approached Bloomsbury Publishing bosses in 1987, ten years before his death, and attempted to sell them his Willy The Wizard stories, but the publishers were far from impressed.
