Definately Spell.....binding....
By PaulaWestwood (397 reviews) from Ashton-Under-Lyne , 14 Jul 2007[Highly rated reviewer]
Another outing for our worthy wand wavers, and another sure fire hit, if anything it just gets better as our Wizards start to come of age.
Certainly the fantastic effects play a part in this, but just as magnificent are the performances of the cast. Not to be outshone by our usual friends, and foes, Imelda Staunton is gloriously horrible as Dolores Umbridge, Maggie Smith as always as Minerva, Evanna Lynch superb as Luna 'Looney' Lovegood, I could go on and on and on...
I can't see anyone with any sense of a good film not liking this, it is just a brilliant brilliant piece of storybook cinema at its very very best, superb !!!. Highly recommended.- Was this review helpful to you?

By paulo05 (6 reviews) , 11 Jun 2013A good film.. I love the story but I find the book's original story much exciting and informational. When I first saw this there are many things I didnt understand because some of the events/informations were not included in the film- Was this review helpful to you?

Magic Offering
By Roddenberry (31 reviews) from Bristol , 07 Nov 2012I've tried reading the books, to no avail, not dark or gritty enough for my tastes and so finally I've gotten around to watching this installment of the Potter franchise. They've been very lucky with the children they've cast, with the lead possibly being the poorest actor, but still good enough for this kind of outing.
To my surprise, this series has grown up, the similar thread of all the previous films run through this, it is after all, a simple tale for children, but this film has enough adult themes to keep the parent paying attention to, though I do wonder if young children may struggle with the politically machinations of this and its proto-Orwellian themes, the ministry is a tad 1984 at times.
Speaking of 1984, segway, my age is showing, we saw a training montage in this film and I was so yearning for an early eighties, soft rock classic to accompany it.
This has actually entertained me enough to make me look forward to watching the next movie.- Was this review helpful to you?

nothing new really!
By denis007 (141 reviews) , 11 Mar 2012This episode seems so similar to the previous in its content. Not much too lean from it. It is like going in circles, infinite circles...- Was this review helpful to you?

Starting to get a bit similar now
By Bassman71 (630 reviews) from Didsbury, England , 12 Dec 2011The fifth year at the Hogwarts School, tabloids and school refuse to believe that Voldemort has returned, Dumbledore pushed out, new power-crazed school governor bans practical magic, Harry and friends create an army, revolt!
The fifth part of the Harry Potter stories and, maybe its my age, but they are all becoming slightly similar.
Great SFX once again but this time it seems to be going through the motions at times although Imelda Staunton and Helena Bonham-Carter put in good performances and Gary Oldman thankfully has a bigger part.
Again maybe its my age but there seems to be a lot of Star Wars similarities and Im just hoping Voldemort doesnt turn out to be Harrys Father!!!!- Was this review helpful to you?
