Harsh Realm Review
By Steven Robinett from Whittlesey, England , 11 Oct 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
Harsh Realm is something I would only recommend if you are a huge sci-fi, or Chris Carter fan, but please dont stop reading yet!
Harsh Realm is about a world where America has created a virtual world where any situation is possible, this program is called Harsh Realm, so they could defend themselves if a perticular situation arrose.
But these things don't always work out, the programme is hijacked by Santiago and imposes marshall law in Hrash Realm.
What a great guy. Not.
In short it's average at best, but worth a blast. The character's are interesting, but one let's it down.
Give it a shot!- Was this review helpful to you?

harsh realm, virtual reality sci-fi
By a customer from Heywood , 08 May 2008Only seen first dvd of this series so just getting a taste of what appears to be a quite ingenious concept. It will be interesting to see where the director takes this story, its a good start and has left me anticipating the arrival of disc two.- Was this review helpful to you?

So good it leaves you wanting more!
By Gary Sinclair-Stedman from Plymouth, Devon , 30 Jun 2006Harsh Realm is really very good. True, its story of a Virtual Reality universe has a lot of parallels with The Matrix but that is a good thing! A lot of US series' old favourites are here, such as Terry O'Quinn, who is his ever reliable and duplicitous self, as a renegade Colonel running the VR universe. D.B. Sweeney is up to his usual tricks as the maverick who cares more than he lets on and is trying to stop O'Quinn's despot, with the aid of Scott Baird's 'Neo' style, Redeemer. The only disappointment here is that there are only nine- yes, NINE, episodes in total and that was all they made. Why, oh why was this show cancelled? It had such promise. The Fox Newtwork strikes again. They're fast becoming famous for turning stupidly cancelling the wrong shows into an art form! Family Guy, Futurama, Babylon 5;Crusade, Sleeper Cell, Angel and Firefly, to name but a few. All I can say is, just how stupid are the people at Fox? When will they understand what we like? If you enjoyed 'The Matrix' and you like Sci-Fi series, like StarGate and the like, rent this and you will only be disappointed that there are not more episodes!- Was this review helpful to you?

Not the best there is to offer....
By Lee from UK , 06 May 2006After watching Harsh Realm I was left with a bad taste in my mouth. After such classics as Millenium and X-Files, this was a break from Chris Carter's usual form by bring out something that was sub par.
Each episode is a continuation with the next with little single story going on in each episode, and with no real end to at as the season was cut short due to problems with the Fox network and Harsh Realms original comic creators, it leaves you with the feeling of 'what was the point'- Was this review helpful to you?
