Not really worth the effort

My wife and I actually went to see 'The Golden Compass', but could not get in, so watched this instead.

Wish we had not bothered.

Christian did act it well, and looked totally different to any other role he has played before, but to be honest the storyline was quite weak, and drawn out. Some very wierd scenes, and not even a good twist at the end, more like a cop out.

Don't want to give too much away, but overall a very poor film.

Still Thinking About It!

I'm still thinking about this film the day after watching it. I like that fact. I'm still not sure what was really going on but it was captivating viewing. Christian Slater plays the part really well.

Not much more I can say really except it doesn't wrap itself up in a neat and tidy movie package, it's quite a deep movie and they don't come along too often.

I would have said 3 stars but the more I think about the film, the more I'm moving towards 4 stars.
