Head On

Sibel is a young woman struggling against the demands of her strict Turkish father and brother. She just wants to be free to drink and dance and make love, and the only way she can escape is to marry a Turkish man. Cahit, with a hangover from hell, is very surprised when he receives a proposal of marriage from this beautiful, crazy girl he has just met in hospital. The biggest surprise of all however, is the turnaround that occurs in both their lives as Cahit and Sibel come back to their roots, a lost culture, and themselves.

      Powerful Drama.

      Powerful drama that has many messages and works on several levels. A human story, set against the backdrop of oppressive religion and stifling tradition.

      very strong film

      akin is a brilliant director and in this film has very well shown the trapped lives of 2nd generation immigrants in germany, well done!
