Head Over Heels

Amanda (Monica Potter) is a nice, normal girl who moves to New York to work as an art restorer, and begins sharing an apartment with four quirky roommates who are all fashion models. She keeps bumping into Jim Winston (Freddie Prinze, Jr.), the cute boy who lives in the building across the street and makes her weak in the knees. Having resolved to hopelessly peep into his window, Amanda is soon given incentive by her sympathetic and seriously fashionable roommates, who dress her and make her up to crash a party thrown by Jim. Relaxed and feeling beautiful, Amanda finally speaks to Jim, and he at last discovers her charms and asks her out. Returning to her apartment on cloud nine later that evening, she spies him apparently committing a murder, and calls the police. The cops assume Amanda and the girls are just airhead models and dismiss the claim. Even her roomies are unsure, but find themselves swept up in the drama of Amanda's REAR WINDOW-esque investigation. Filled with good-natured pokes at models and the fashion industry, HEAD OVER HEELS is a romantic comedy powered by an energetic 1980s-style soundtrack and directed by Mark S. Waters (THE HOUSE OF YES).

Teen heart-throb Freddie Prinze Jr co-stars here with Con Air's Monica Potter in a romantic comedy that starts off amusingly but swiftly sinks into mediocrity. Potter plays an unlucky-in-love art curator who moves into a luxury New York flat with four supermodels. It's not long before she then falls for neighbour Prinze Jr, that is until she sees him apparently club someone to death. Misunderstandings and nods to Rear Window run roughshod through what is left of a plot which also conspires to put the models in a locked bathroom when the toilet explodes. Shame such a promising start descends to the level of a bad Carry On film.

    Big Fat Pile Of Pants!

I was expecting a funny, charming and endearing chick flick, but what I got was a complete pile of dribble. The acting very wooden, and the plot was terrible. Even casting Freddie Prince Jnr as the love interest doesn't save this film. The only mild amusement came from the clumsy Australian girl.

I would strongly advise anyone to bypass the film, and spend their time watching paint dry instead, you'll find it more enjoyable.

McCord misses out on Twilight sequel

    • 27 Mar 2009

Actress Annalynne Mccord has lost out on playing human bait in the Twilight sequel - to beautiful Canadian supermodel Noot Seear. The 90210 star had auditioned for the part of Heidi and recently revealed it was a dream role for her, but producers have chosen to give Seear, 25, a big break instead, according to Eonline.com. In a recent interview, McCord said, "I'd love to do it (film). I'm obsessed with vampires." Seear's only film role to date came in 2001 when she appeared opposite Freddie... Read more
