Watch this film!!! Now!!By Jonathan Turner from England , 05 Mar 2004
[Highly rated reviewer]Heaven and Earth has to be one of the most visually beautiful films I have ever seen, from perfect landscapes to encreditable lighting the cinematography is unbelivable.
We track the life of Le Ly a Vietnam village girl through her life as she grows up in the middle of Vietnam war.
This is drama at its very best, and Oliver Stone really proves that he is one of the great directors of our time, he skillfully guides you on a jounary of love, lose and cultural roots.
The performers are fanastic, and we get a really feeling for the horror of being innocently stuck in the middle of a war.
I'm a hasch marker of films and it really has to be something amazing to get 5 stars but this comes very close.
At times the pacing is a little off, as some scenes are a bit too long while other too short, but this does not take away from what a truly great film this is.
If you like drama get this right now, if you don't just give it a try, this really is one of the best out there.

Drama/emotionalBy a customer from Lytham St. Annes , 18 Jan 2008This is a great film and puts a different perspective on life there ,where there is real poverty and our so called poverty/luxury here. I like happy endings and whilst the central character was ok, and had great resilience I am a fan of Tommy Lee Jones. This film also shows the mental strength of women. Well worth watching
Still as fresh as the first timeBy lizzo from London , 02 Dec 2005I saw this film at the cinema when it came out. Having spent a lot of time in Vietnam over the last 4 or 5 years I decided to revisit it. In my experience, when I watch a film again after such a long time my expectations are usually overrated but I think I enjoyed and apprecitated it even more the second time round.
