the first hellsing series was cool this new has lost all of the that. Alucard has lost his smooth edge and his whit and the police girl is a walking pus*y who kisses his ass all the time. They tell you too much too start with as the first series kept you in the dark about most of it.I know this is a new and different series but come on if you wanna see that smoothness see the original series.
After watching both the original 13 episode series and all of the OVA series so far, as well as reading the manga, I can safely say that the OVA deserves alot more praise than the orginal series.
The OVA sticks to the manga's plotline, which is far more interesting and complex than that of the original series, although you won't notice much of a difference in plotlines until OVA 3. The art is also far superior, making use of computer technology, but not so much that it takes away from the hand-drawings.
The characters are also more complex, with more depth to them than shown in the original series, and I'm happy to say Seras is a lot less wimpy. All of the fight scenes are longer and more interesting, (as well as there being a lot more gore), especially the fight between Alucard and Anderson in this episode, and there are some extra scenes taken directly from the manga that did not appear in the original series, such as a scene of Anderson working in the orphanage.
The only thing that the original series tops the OVA on is the soundtrack. Although the OVA soundtrack is good and serves its purpose, the original's soundtrack is nothing short of awesome.
I highly recommend that any fans of the original Hellsing series check this out...it got me hooked!
Was not expecting such a poor cartoon.
If you're a fan of the series, you're bound to enjoy it :)
a.k..a - IT ROCKS!

If anyone has ever read the manga (books) then they would know that this follows it almost exactally. It's brilliant and beautiful.
Ok where do I begin, well... first of all Hellsing ultimate is alot shorter than the original, as 3 30min episodes were packed into 50mins. The story chops from scene to scene but still has all relevant storyline information and all the loveable violence. I never cared much for Seras (police girl) in the original and I still dont after watching Ultimate, but the very cool Alucard is definatly more moral and serious in this series and definitly less fun. Hellsing Ultimate is a good series and worth a rent, but I still prefer the original series.
After watching the first ova, I would say that I prefer the tv series better. I mean many of the scenes are longer and more clearer and I like Sera#s better in thr tv series. However I may be biast as I watched the series first.
