Most helpful review Help!

  • Wonderful memories of the decade of the century and 4 lads who changed the world, let alone music.

    [Highly rated reviewer]

'Hard Days Night' always seems to get the accolades, but I prefer 'Help'----it has more 'polish', colour, better songs, funnier plot, and the Fab Four seem to have learnt more by this second film.

The sound track is absolutely amazing. Just to hear the two Number 1 singles , including the wonderful harmony of the title track, is a joy.

But to see and hear the lads laughing and joking through the weird and funny plot is a real treat for folk who only ever saw them sing or give interviews.

Dick Lester directs the second movie as well as he did with 'Hard Day's Night' and the scenery adds a lot to this second film compared to the first one.

It can never be taken for granted, as we watch this iconic 60s film featuring the biggest singing stars on the planet, and arguably the finest composers alongside Beethoven and Chopin ( but with lyrics too LOL), that this is the stuff that dominated a whole generation and changed the world forever.

It would be a silly and ordinary film with Bert, Alf , Mick and Titch as the stars. But this is THE BEATLES.

Fun for all the family of all generations. But a shrine at which to worship for viewers of a certain age who were either there in the unique decade or who appreciate what that decade , influenced so much by John, Paul, George and Ringo, accomplished in history.

    Magic memories.

  • Love It All Around

    Rated - 5.0 stars
    By Hotscotjimi (9 reviews) , 20 Dec 2012
I watched this film as a kid and rented it to see if it was just as good as an adult and it was. It also helps that I am a big Beatles fan so maybe that's why I love it so much. It is full of the childish comedy The Beatles are renouned for and also silly little one liners. The storyline is a little crazy but so were they so it works. The film is full of songs from the 'Help' album funnily enough and are fit in nicely to the storyline. So rent if you like the Beatles, Rent if you think they are ok and if you hate the beatles then you should rent this too as it will change your mind on them

  • Bonkers but endearingly The Beatles

    Rated - 3.0 stars

This is a bit of a bonkers film and has some cultural references that, although for their time are very tolerant and gentle, are still a bit on the didgy side by today's standards. The Beatles are charming and funny as ever and the story line is easy enough to follow to be pleasing to young and old alike. A fun evening in with the kiddies with this one. But expect a few questions about why they are doing or saying what they are!

Saw this ages ages ago when i was a kid and was enthralled by it. so went for it again. The plot is not as clever now and seems ridiculously silly even but its what it was intended to be. Good fun. Awesome awesome soundtracks. Watch with good speakers and enjoy.
