If you are a fan of Barbara Taylor Bradford then I recommend you rent this. I enjoyed it from start to finish and thought Melissa Gilbert acted well.
I think though that this is mainly a woman's film, but my partner likes Catherine Cookson (for period drama) so you never know chaps.
I would actually give this between 3 and 4 stars.
