Heroes' Mountain

On 30th July 1997, the ski town of Thredbo, Australia, was devastated by a monstrous avalanche that buried alive scores of people. Only one of them, Stuart Diver (Craig McLachlan), managed to survive. Diver communicated with the tireless rescue workers while trapped under mounds of snow and debris for an excruciating 65 hours in freezing temperatures before being pulled from the rubble wearing only his underwear. This sensitively-handled made-for-TV movie realistically dramatizes the Thredbo tragedy with a minimum of sensationalism, resulting in a moving portrayal of a disaster that is still very fresh in the minds of many Australians.
