    [Highly rated reviewer]

I’m not particularly into watching tv-series when aired on telly, as I find it too hard to commit to a time and day of the week so inevitably I end up watching the first episodes but give up half way through. “Heroes” was no exception but after watching the first 2 episodes I knew I had to get the series on DVD because it was just too good to miss! I loved every episode of it and in order not to give out any spoilers I will not get into the details. Believe the hype. This IS really good. Extremely well executed, it looks fantastic, the special effects are better than any TV series out there and the story grabs you and refuses to let go until the very end. The only criticism that I can think of is that in spite of what Tim Kring says, it is plagiarising X-men. Not that this is a bad thing but to claim otherwise is a bit embarrassing when the similarities are huge. Some of the characters even have the same powers as the heroes and villains of X-men. But I love it and I know of lot of people who are not into sci-fi but still loved the series. I can’t wait for series 2 to come out on DVD (as unfortunately I don’t have the patience to watch it on telly).

It took me a while to get back into Heroes as it was a long time since I'd seen the previous episode, and I'd forgotten such a lot. But then I remembered the connections between the characters, and new connections became apparent, and by the end of the 2nd episode of this part, I was hooked again!

I think Heroes was immense. It really makes you think about life for people with abilities. Although nobody we know has powers (a safe assumption), there is still that small chance there is. Heroes has the potential to produce some seriously cool powers...but the powers seem to lack imagination.

Although the graphics are brilliant, they have improved further into series 2, again in series 3 (despite the disapointing length and storyline due to the writers' strike). I am currently watching series 4 which is proving my point of the potential it has.

One thing I have to question is the fact that ost of the powers seem to be understandable. Nobody has a power that can't be understood. People can heal, produce fire, control coputers etc....but the chances of producing a power like these would be slim...there are infinite choices, so why don't these people gain powers that are not understandable to humans?
