What on earth were they thinking? I can't believe I wasted time watching this!
OK the acting was generably mediocre, it was probably made for TV, probably on tight budget, but that is no escuse for such CHEESE!
At one point a group of immortals beat the c&/\p out of some thugs. Fair enough, but then a petrol tanker appears from nowhere and blows up. WTF? Had they just underspent on their pyrotechnics budget? This was followed by the group walking hero-like from the smoke, accompanied by Queen's 'Princes of the universe'? Is this a spoof? Is it ironic? I wish! That might have been funny.
That, along with the 'entire-film-recap-for-those-who-still-don't-quite -get-it' near the end, were the low points but none of the rest was much better. All the action (and most of the rest of the film) was entirely CG and not even done well.
Avoid!
And since when can you see all the planets in the solar system and the sun with the naked eye, at night?!
Must say this film was terrible and I can't believe this film is part of the Highlander series. My wife wanted to switch it off after 20 mins, but I said no, but I wish I had!!! The film had no substance what so ever and the ending was an anti-climax. I hope you find this review helpful. DON'T BOTHER WATCHING THIS FILM because it's a waste of time. (I've saved you 95 mins, it's like watching paint dry.)
I believe a Highlander film without Christopher Lambert just does not work very much like a Terminator without Arnie. Adrain Paul is good but they should have ended the series after the 4th one and made Connor Mcleod the one. This film was very tacky, poor acting and very shoddy special effects there was not even good sword fights or anything, however if you consider that it was made for TV and probably had a small budget then it is not terrible and has some good scenes of of action, I would say it is OK but Highlander fans do not expect anything close to as good as the 1st 4 films, No Connor Mcleod makes this a poor film.

I am a highlander fan. Love the first film. Ignore the second. Think the others are ok and really enjoyed the series. This film, though, is not just a bad highlander film but possibly one of the worst films ever. It is a joke. The 'plot' is pitiful and the main baddie is the worst character of all time. Ever! I did however find myself laughing a lot at this complete pile of tosh and the final battle has to be seen to be believed, and not in a good way. I can only conclude that this film was made with the intention of killing the Highlander film franchise once and for all. All of those involved in making this should be embarrassed and ashamed. DO NOT WATCH THIS TRAVESTY! If you want to see a great new Highlander film then get the anime 'Highlander - Search for Vengeance' instead...that is a very good film.

Well, I guess it was good to finally find out what the entire series of films and t.v shows were all about. Shame they tried to do it for 13pence. It wasnt so much the sets and fx that were disappointing (although they were naff) it was more that none of the cast looked like they could really be bothered. Possibly they were as confused about the plot as everyone else. Also, the film fell foul of the 'unstoppable bad guy, suddenly turning into a big girls blouse' plot device, at the climax of the film. There were a few unanswered questions as well, like what happened to Marius? He slogs all the way through the film and then at the final moment decides he cant be arsed and tells the Duncan 'well, I'll be off then..bye'.
Still, if you liked the films and the series on telly then you might as well get this on the rental queue, just rid yourself of the 'i wonder what happens..' voice at the back of your mind....
I really loved the first highlander film I though it had the better of the villians. The second was ok but as a sequal let the storyline down. The third wasa good sequal to follow on from the first. and the fourth introduced Duncan into the movie franshise. But this well tosh is the polite term.
I sat down eager to see this and gee was I disapointed. there is barely any plot and after the build up between Duncan and Faith in the fourth this just stamped that out introduced a new female lead and crashed and burned the franshise. I'll be seriously surprise if a 6th film will follow this tosh. The fight scenes are rubbish the film is that boring it droans on.. The effects budget is way too low.
And the whole decayed future didn't work. I loved the highlander stories the series and the raven but what the hell this was is anyones guess.
Whatever your thinking about view this DONT it lacks in every way possible and I think they only achievement this film could possibly bring to the franchise is killing it.
Avoid this title if you do watch it you'll regret wasting the 90 or so minutes of your life. My advice read the yellow pages its more entertaining.
I don't know why I insist in watching all the Highlander sequels. Possibly becuase the first one was ground breaking and a classic tale.
Even the excellent visuals in this movie could not make up for how shockingly bad every thing else was about this movie.
1 star for the said visuals, but 0 for the film.
Awful Awful Awful
I SO wanted to like this, it had so much potential.
They could have really given the highlander series a new source of life but no it's a crash and burn situation.
The idea of the plot is not a complete failury but the way it is shown is just bad. I hope they learn from there mistakes and if another one is made they spend more time with the charecters. Having watched the tv series i was dissapionted to see everyone act completly out of charecter.
I'm sure if you are a highlander fan you will watch this and some may even like it but to most i am sorry it is not going to be easy watching.
I enjoyed the Highlander films in the 1980s.......sadly this is mere shadow of the Highlander films. The script was written by Hollywood chimpanzees with storyline that is little short of laughable. The acting is wooden and the dialogue is worse. A dismal experience. Avoid
very disopointed with this movie but if you are a fan of adrian paul you will probebley love this as i did not.
