No longer the winsome teenager who saved Universal Studios' bacon, but a winsome 22-year-old with her fine singing voice intact and only five years to go before retiring, Deanna Durbin stars as a small-town girl with ambitions to be a great singer. She goes to New York to seek the help of composer Franchot Tone, only to be put to work as a maid by his butler and her half-brother, Pat O'Brien. Complications ensue before the inevitable resolution as Tone is smitten by her charms. The star gets to sing several numbers (including Nessun Dorma) in this delightful nonsense, which Frank Borzage directs in the right spirit.

    View and enjoy !

I watched this film many years ago now and it gave me a memory of times I could cherish. This is the reason I am looking forward to seeing it for the second time. You will see Hollywood at its very best where they use a white lie to create a very touching ,yet amusing story Dianna excells and her support give a great performance!

The veteran actor, who is currently appearing in Alexander, will star alongside Morgan Freeman in Harry and the Butler, a loose remake of the 1962 Danish film Harry og Kammertjeneren.
