An enjoyable film about love and romance, along the lines of 4 Weddings and a Funeral or Love Actually. Some touching moments and quite funny in places. Well acted and well written.
Shame that some have termed it a 'chick flick' or 'girl movie', particularly as many romances and love stories and even relationships in the real world, involve men too.
This was, unfortunately, the worst film I have submitted myself to in a very long time. Storyline looked alright, like the actors and then bitter disappointment followed. OK, so we know what's going to happen, we know what to expect, but I was expecting better quality. Fair dos to Kate Winslet and Jack Black for struggling with awful direction. If you like any of these actors usually, I would steer clear so as not to tarnish your view of them. At times I found myself wondering if I was supposed to be paying so much attention to the music in the background, feeling how forced it was. Knowing that certain parts were supposed to elate me just annoyed me. My one out of five stars goes to Jack Black for making me smile atleast a couple of times. Words to sum up: Frustrating, annoying and after a while...tiring. Well worth a look if you need something to fall asleep to without feeling any guilt whatsoever.
Leading ladies Halle Berry, Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Aniston were all winners at the 33rd annual People's Choice Awards, with Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest also picking up a couple of trophies.
