A slow-paced, gritty cop drama based in Baltimore, Maryland, 'Homicide: Life On The Streets' takes a bit of getting used to. The second series carries on much as it did in the first series, if a little slicker and faster paced.
Considered a ground-breaking crime-drama in it's day (keep in mind, the first series is now 15 years old), Homicide really develops the personalities of the detectives, showing you all their little idiosyncrasies. The dialogue is natural and the characters are believable. The actual investigation and conclusion of the murders are seemingly an added extra to their day-to-day involvement with one another.
The most satisfying part of the show - they don't always catch the bad guy.
