First class entertainment
Season 5 begins with a significant change in cast but no deterioration in plot, acting, social comment or entertainment. David Simon remains heavily involved and the seeds of the Wire are easy to discern. Although some old favourite detectives have 'moved on' enough core characters remain to maintain the development of old unfinished story lines and this promises to be a season that maintains the standards of its predecessors.
