This film based on the fabulous book 'Hoot' is a great adaptation of the book. The story line is gripping and original. It presents issues in a humourous and entertaining way, while still addressing the actual problem. It is nice to see a movie in which the teens are obsessing about something other than the prom. I loved it!
Its all about owls. Kids saw this one and gave it 3 stars. They said it was ok, but not as good as a disney movie. Feel free to gave this review the thumbs down as I know nothing about this film.
Predictable and very dull
I have read the book, and the film adaptation is good. A few bits I actually remember the characters saying those exact lines! The main downfall of the film is that on screen (not in the book) the reason for it all sounds very stupid (owls). I thought the police officer was very good, although the film moved too quickly.
This a feel good film for all the family, it will appeal to those youngsters interested in animal welfare, the enviroment and how a community can pull together to make a real difference.
The main character is new to the school and soon makes friends with other like minded youngsters. When the children discover that a new pancake house is going to effect not just people, but animals too. They do all they can to bring about change. The ideals are played out well by the child actors. i would recommend this for kids 6 and upwards.
