Charlie Sheen stars in this TOP GUN spoof by the folks who created AIRPLANE and NAKED GUN, playing Topper Harley, a heartthrob fighter pilot assigned to the Navy on a secret mission, the details of which never entirely become clear. The jokes come fast and furious as Topper attempts to clear his family name while completing his mission despite the absurdity going on around him, and the spoofs are not limited to TOP GUN; DANCES WITH WOLVES and THE FABULOUS BAKER BOYS also receive their due. Lloyd Bridges turns in a hilarious performance as the accident prone and eccentric Admiral Tug Benson, and Cary Elwes plays Topper's sleazy rival to perfection.

not as funny as hot shots: part deux, but still definitely worth a watch. you wouldn't expect more from the people behind airplane. If you liked naked gun, airplane, national lampoons then i'd definitely recommend this film too because it'll be right up your street. (i'd also recommend that you've seen top gun, otherwise some of the jokes might pass you by)
This film was hilarious from start to finish.
Nice storyline to keep it going, usual gags that a 'spoof' would do, but then, this was earlier than any spoof so presumably this kind of film is what they aspired from!
