Joan Rivers is the millionaire's wife who suspects her husband is trying to kill her in this woeful comedy adventure. A cast that includes Alex Rocco, Morgan Fairchild and David Ogden Stiers cannot save the movie from being a one-joke wonder, and Rivers, never the most subtle comedian, plays every weak laugh to the limit as if it was the best joke she'd ever heard. Forget How to Murder a Millionaire; this should have been titled How to Murder Your Film Career.

If you're sick and tired of the same old mass produced cinema of today, like I am, I suggest you step back in time to a little bit of class and sophistication with the three legendary actresses that make this film such a pleasure to watch. It is quick witted and funny and not too heavy going like some chick flicks, these girls just get on with it rather than debating for an hour how they're feeling. For an old film (52 years old) it has a surprising amount of twists in the plot and although we are nowadays more educated in our movie watching lets not forget that when this was made this film would have been in a league of its own. Granted it's three beautiful women looking gorgeous throughout the film (even with glasses) but if I want gritty and hard hitting I'll watch a drama; if I want light-hearted fun, frollicks and high jinx I'll choose this film everytime. Films like this never date, they should be appreciated in their own right.

Screen legend Lauren Bacall has hit out at the current state of Hollywood, insisting modern movie stars are only interested in fame. The How To Marry A Millionaire actress, who is considered part of Hollywood's golden age, blames tabloid culture for breeding an obsession with celebrities' lives rather than their careers. And the 84 year old has no patience for reporters who only take an interest in the designer labels worn by the stars. She says, "I love my profession. I have tremendous... Read more
