The year is 2151 and Britain has launched an armada of spacecraft to protect her interests in the cosmos. Amongst the ships is HMS Camden Lock, whose crew has been charged with the task of bringing peace to the galaxy, while persuading encountered life forms to relocate their businesses to Peterborough. Led by the overtly optimistic Commander Henderson, a hero to none but himself, and his First Officer, York, a visionary scientist with a penchant for sadism, the rest of this motley crew consists of a staff so eclectic, you’ll be glad they’re not roaming the Earth. A first rate cast and sharp writing combine to create a comedy of inter-galactic proportions.

Shockingly good... Like THE OFFICE set in outer space
A breath of fresh, surreal air
When a show may be compared unfavorably to 2 pints of lager or So Haunt me I feel nothing more be said other than avoid.
Caught the first series completely by accident... missed all the second because the bbc was faffing and playing TV Timetable Tennis! It is such a shame that more people don't know about this series. On playing the whole lot on DVD again, I'd forgotten how sharp the observations in developing the plotlines and characters were. I love these characters! Can't personally see the similarity to the office, but If pushed I would say that the series would be a cross between 'The Vicar of Dibley', 'Blackadder' and 'Galaxy Quest'. Sit through this with an open mind and you will find yourself sat with a stupid 'wide mouth frog grin' and a that safe and cosy feeling that you used to have when you watched the muppet show with a glass of warm milk as a child.
