    Not part of the story

    I enjoyed I Claudius enormously - on TV, on video and now on DVD.

    What isn't clear from some other descriptions about this boxed set is that the whole of the TV series is on DVDs 1 - 4. DVD 5 is the 'story about the story' DVD, with 'alternative scenes', characters choosing their favourite scenes etc.

    If you want to see a little about the background to the series, this DVD completes the picture. However, if you just want to see all the episodes, stick with 1 - 4 and skip number 5.

    I promise you, you will love I, ClauClauClaudius

    They say you should never go back, that things are never as good as remembered. Not so in the case of I, Claudius. If you want computer generated effects or lavish locations then maybe this DVD is not for you but if you want a ripping yarn and acting to take your breath away then rent this series without delay. As the sunday paper says, ' all human life is here', murder, scandal, sex, violence, humour and pathos. Some of you may not even have been born when this series was on telly, or maybe like me you remember enjoying the series in your youth. I promise you, you will love I, ClauClauClaudius
