[Highly rated reviewer]Oh dear. As a rule, I prefer not to write bad or negative reviews of my rentals but I think I ought to warn punters about this one. Despite its auspicious cast and glitzy, compelling showbiz appearance, it has nothing going for it. And I mean nothing: no real storyline, no plot, no character development and certainly no genuine amusement. You might use the epithets 'Iightweight' or 'fluffy romantic comedy' on a good day when you're feeling generous but this is SO lightweight it barely registers. Events revolve around Rosie (Michelle Pfeiffer), a TV producer, and Adam (Paul Rudd), a newly-cast actor and Rosie's toy-boy; the theme of the story is based on the age-gap between them. The interplay between these lovers provides a certain chemistry, possibly the movie's only redeeming feature. Unfortunately, this age-gap thing is unconvincing, despite Rudd's over-played puppy-dog-cute youthful enthusiasm. The result is a very unfunny comedy that desperately contrives to salvage credibility but only manages a piece of tepid satire, at best. Writer-director Amy Heckerling may have forged her reputation with savvy, smart comedies such as 'Clueless' and 'Fast Times at Ridgemont High', but this effort has none of their charm and sparkle. This is one of the worst films I've seen this year. Not recommended.

Three days to watch the ending.By a customer , 01 Jun 2013I couldn't watch the movie in full first time, but then could not be bothered for three days. This says it all, if the line up was not so strong, it would be a TV movie - 'nuff said.
Worth a shot!By a customer , 30 May 2013A little bit slow going, but eventually worth the watch if you're expectations are not too high. A nice romcom. Worth a go!
Embarrassing film.By GinMummy (1 review) , 21 May 2013Awful I'm afraid. I cringed through half of this film and then decided that life was too short. It wasn't because of the actors; the script and whole premise was just rubbish. Embarrassing really.
witty romantic comedyBy b-movie (161 reviews) from Cardigan , 17 Apr 2013yes i was surprised, i was waiting for a boring no story romantic comedy! i rented this out for my wife to watch but i was surprised i enjoyed it too. Michelle pfeiffer i enjoyed watching her play a good mum and still can look good looking for her age . Paul rudd was funny too. was he not in friends playing phoebes boyfriend in season 9,10!
