    [Highly rated reviewer]

This is the story of Kate Helen Reddy (named after Katharine Hepburn & Helen Reddy), a fund manager who has to juggle her career with bringing up two young children. It's based on the novel by Allison Pearson and is semi-autobiographical, as the Kate character is based on the author herself.

SJP is convincing in the role but the screenplay is rather tame and although it's not entirely boring, it's not particularly interesting either and I don't really know why they bothered to make it.

Pierce Brosnan is a good actor but doesn't have a lot to do here & is more or less a support player. Post Bond, it would be a shame if his career goes downhill as quickly as some former Bonds, such as Roger Moore & Timothy Dalton.

This was a cinema screening but there is no mention of Dolby, Datasat or SDDS sound in the credits, which makes me strongly suspect it was originally intended for TV not cinemas.

A funny film who had me agreeing and recoiling in horror at the truth of the plot!!! Really well played by SJP. For those mum's night in with the nibbles and vino, this film is perfect :)

Compared to the excellent book this was a great disappointment. BIG mistake transposing the action from London to the USA. Sarah Jessica Parker too old for the main character.

Occasionally funny, mostly boring, over-long and filled with characters you neither like or care about. Billed as a chick-flick/rom-com all the best bits are seen in the advert!

Very interesting film, showing how any female in employment gets all the social pressures with family involvement especially if in a high powered job, Bit of a waste of brosnans ability but I underrated SJPs performance as she was excellent and I was biased from the sex and the city series
