I don't know why they made itBy blackpolekev (248 reviews) from blackpole , 13 Jan 2012
[Highly rated reviewer]This is the story of Kate Helen Reddy (named after Katharine Hepburn & Helen Reddy), a fund manager who has to juggle her career with bringing up two young children. It's based on the novel by Allison Pearson and is semi-autobiographical, as the Kate character is based on the author herself.
SJP is convincing in the role but the screenplay is rather tame and although it's not entirely boring, it's not particularly interesting either and I don't really know why they bothered to make it.
Pierce Brosnan is a good actor but doesn't have a lot to do here & is more or less a support player. Post Bond, it would be a shame if his career goes downhill as quickly as some former Bonds, such as Roger Moore & Timothy Dalton.
This was a cinema screening but there is no mention of Dolby, Datasat or SDDS sound in the credits, which makes me strongly suspect it was originally intended for TV not cinemas.

Easy watchingBy a customer , 29 Dec 2012Typical Parker movie, but that is not negative easy viewing with good story line. Enjoyable even for the guys (wont admit it publically thou)
Nothing SpecialBy RussnEmma (403 reviews) from London, England , 23 Dec 2012Very average comedy with not much romance to it. Fans of Sex and the City will enjoy how similar the style of film and Sarah Jessica Parker's character. The film was watchable and had a couple of humorous moments, however failed to deliver anything substantial. Certainly not a film you would watch more than once.
Awful - not funny not worth botheringBy a customer , 16 Dec 2012Awful - not funny, wooden, predictable scenes that are over-acted - watched c10 minutes before giving up on the idea it might get better.
Good, but wouldn't watch over and over.By AlisonS (4 reviews) , 04 Dec 2012This film is what you'd expect. I personally liked it, but it's not a film i could watch over and over. Simple story line, may not be others cup of tea.
