This film ranks with Inland Empire in terms of baffling its audience. It is difficult to understand the dismal tale that is unfolding, especially as one of the principal actors plays two roles. It is not simply an exposure of the terrible conditions migrant workers endure, it is seeking to explore some unclear philosophical aspect.
I watched this with my wife who is from Malysia and speaks the language. Even she found it boring. There was no plot - no dramatic tension - no suspense - no inner conflict. Nothing to keep you interested. We fast forwarded through parts of the film where there was no dialogue, and very little movement - we could watch the picture to make sure we weren't missing anything.
So, avoid this film, if possiible.
