Come on baby fight my fire...By PaulaWestwood (397 reviews) from Ashton-Under-Lyne , 24 Sep 2007
[Highly rated reviewer]This is one of the first movies in 2007 that has actually had me in tears, at one point I had to bite by knuckles to avoid becoing annoying to other people sat around the cinema. To salvage a firefighters benefits package for his kids, a widowed New York firefighter has to ask his colleague, and no 1 friend (and incidentally a world class womaniser) to become his gay partner. The trouble is there is some doubt to the honesty of this partnership, and as investigations (by Steve Buschemi) start unearthing disrepancies, the two have to go further and further to prove they are actually an 'item' - including much to the disgust of Adam sandler, acually getting married. The whole thing is just hilarious for me, and had me doubled up for over half the film. If you want a film that should guarantee to make you laugh this has got to be close to the top of your list. Recomemended.

I now pronounch you chuck and larryBy a customer from Bristol , 17 Aug 2010If you like adam sandler you'll love this film. Was laugh out loud funny. Just an easy to watch comedy --.
Didn't Even FinishBy Freelancer (59 reviews) from Birmingham , 08 Jul 2010i watched about 20-30mins of it and gave up one of the worst films ever, not even remotely funny, story is just stupid, and i just didnt care what happened to any character in the whole film. A waste of time!
Most homophobic film everBy DaddyLongstrokes (22 reviews) from Long Eaton , 27 Jun 2010Ok, so I heard this film was pretty homophobic but I had to watch it for myself. Every gay reference ever made written into a 90 minute script.
Ok, now that rants over, the film isn't too bad. Classic Sandler storyline - decent guy makes jokes, finds love, etc. If you like Sandler and aren't bothered by the same format (every film he plays a joker who finds love), then you may find this mildly entertaining. Not one of his best though
Generally funny, but rather disappointingBy a customer from Farnborough , 15 Jun 2010I like Sadler films, but this one comes fairly close to some of his worst.
Don't get me wrong, there are some genuinely funny moments in this film, but what starts off as a good story line with lots of comedy potential, ends up being a gay rights film which started to get very boring.
The movie went over the top in its homophobic content and began to grate and made me wonder if it was aimed to please people who are either homophobic themselves or very very stupid.
I had expected great things from this film. Although I did laugh a number of times, it could have been so much better.
