  • More of an insight into mental illness...

... than a window into the lives of super fans. I had no idea that one-hit wonder Tiffany was still making a living from singing (plus a Playboy shoot!). It's hard to watch this without feeling sympathy for the two featured characters, one with Asperger's syndrome and the other undergoing 'gender reassignment' treatment, but currently stick with a duel gender identity! Credit goes to Tiffany for the way she deals with these people and it seems that she has quite a few obsessive fans, for some reason!

I liked the way this film was made, with sympathy towards deluded fans who would usually be ignored or dismissed.

Really interesting documentary. As said previously, it's certainly more about the mental illnesses of the two people concerned, without being detrimental, and including interviews from friends of each person to give a fuller picture. It seems that their obsession could have been with any celebrity, Tiffany just came along at the right time! I watched this completely on a whim and was very glad that I did.

  • Portraits of two highly delusional people... but not as creepy as you'd expect.

This documentary follows the lives of two Tiffany fans, who are obsessive to the point of viewing Tiffany herself as a potential romantic partner. Both are somewhat unusual people. Jeff is a middle-aged man with Aspergers Syndrome who laughs off any attempt to call him a stalker. Kelly is a intersex person (hermaphrodite), who is very needy and sad. The documentary is actually pretty good. It tries to see them in a sympathetic light (they are pretty easy targets for anyone who wants to be nasty). I did sometimes find myself laughing at the ridiculous things they say. Without giving too much away, it's interesting to see how things change after they both get a chance to meet Tiffany at an autograph signing.

By the way, you can see Jeff's own reaction to the film on Youtube.

  • A warm portrayal of some unusual characters

I think the previous reviewer's term 'mental illness' is rather unsympathetic (and largely inaccurate). The film is actually rather warm and sympathetic to these unusual characters. Tiffany is certainly very tolerant of her fans (but then she's in it for the money). Jeff is obsessive by nature (if it wasn't Tiffany it'd probably be trainspotting) but Kelly's really rather complex and interesting. His/her obsession is based on a vision he had recovering from a terrible accident. He's never even been to one of her concerts before. At the end of the film I think you can see some light at the end of the tunnel for Kelly. I felt pleased.
