A frenetic and gritty foray into topicality that avoids exploitation but not melodrama and overstatement.
This film brought back so many good and bad memories it also made me look at the football situation today and like the North East in the 80's has been raped by people in suits. Football is now all about money and the fans that go today don't really care about the result or the league position they are there as its a rich persons fasion as they have no identity and crave to belong to something. Piss off and give the game back to the working class, give us the terrace back, lower the cost and put the special trains back on. This film is about life in Brit Rock in the 80's when nothing else mattered when unemployment in certain parts was sky high, its about belonging and for 90 mins being part of something equal. We will never see the good old days again. Mint film, good British actors and a good British theme essential viewing if you love football
A good old British, football hooligan style movie. Really! worth watching if you like that sort of thing. Otherwise a bit brash for the light hearted.
i CAN'T BELIEVE THE OTHER REVIEWS ON THIS FILM, I THOUGHT IT WAS PRETTY POOR, CRAP ACTING CRAP FIGHT SCENES PREDICTABLY UNEXITING SCRIPT...MAYBE I'M MISSING SOMETHING?

I.D. shows the demise of policemen who are trying to crack a football hooligan gang. They go undercover and end up so rapped up in life that they become hooligans themselves at the forefront of the action, with the breakdown of relationships thrown in. A classic film .

Brilliant movie, A must watch film
Good proper film, great violence, good plot and blatantly this film was the reason we saw films like Football Factory and Green Street.
If you enjoyed them films then this is definitely recommended!
I enjoyed the film, but I can imagine there would be many who wouldn't.
When this came out i remember all the fuss about it and it was quite near the bone at times but now it isn't the same it hasn't aged very well at all, and some of the acting is terrible, sean pertwee for example is a fine british actor but his part as a soccer casual is hilarious, if you haven't seen it , watch it but you would far better of with gary Oldman in The Firm.
if you like a good ruck, this films for you
may be a pretty old film now, but if you enjoy football violance, and you have not seen this film yet!!!
u dont know what your missing!! hurry up and add it to your rent list!!
I D is somewhat dwarfed by the classics of football violence such as The Firm and Football Factory it tends to gloss over the underlying pack mentality of hooliganism and glorifies the cop gone wrong NOT BAD COULD BE BETTER
