glad to see a third film looks fantastic
This third film follows the exploits of the weird herd of Manny, Sid, Diego etc. as they get caught up in a land of dinosaurs. The existance of the dinosaurs in the Ice Age (an age which followed their extinction) is explained by a green and lush land that exists below the ice!!!
The problem with this film is that most of the jokes have already been done in the excellent first film and the 'lesser' number 2. However it's just about ok, but a film needs more than just brilliant animation and wonderful 3D, it needs to be more original.
Fox Animation may be languishing well behind Dreamworks, Aardman, Disney and Pixar as far as brand recognition goes, but the popular Ice Age franchise and last year’s hit Horton Hears a Who! suggests that the studio is doing something right. Subtitled “Dawn of the Dinosaurs” (nonsensically: it’s set after their supposed extinction), Ice Age 3 is strictly surplus to all natural storytelling requirements.
