Blue Planet is a space film about Earth. From the orbit of the U.S. space shuttle, where the curvature of the globe and the shape of its continents stand out sharply, Earth is revealed as a place of constant, even violent change. It is also delicate and fragile, unique in the solar system and possibly the entire universe. How did Earth begin? How is it changing, and what is mankind's role in these changes? Blue Planet investigates these questions with footage taken on the ocean floor, on the ground and in space, state-of-the-art computer animation and new data from satellites in geosynchronous orbit. We gain new insight into Earth, our one and only home.

Beautiful planet Earth

This is a dvd that gives a beautiful view of Earth as seen by astronauts, it's wonderfully good looking, but explained in really simple terms that become quite annoying (unless you're under 13) and the narrator is a bit boring.

I felt as though i was 3 years old! The narrator is like a poor primary school teacher and her voice blends into the music. Watced it on a 42' TV but it came up in 4:3 so had to be ajusted.Just not worth renting, sorry.

Good to watch and a great insight into the planet we live on but will never get to see this way. Not much more to it

very cheesy narrative

IMAX have obviously put all of their effort on the visual aspects of this dvd.

I just wish they'd spent a bit more effort on the narrative.

For quality go for the bbc blue planet series

i found this very educational i would ve liked to have seen it with its 3d effects at home even if i had to get the specs from somewhere.this format would not let you see it in 3d it done fof television.lost 2 stars because of this.

worth watching..but a bit dull most of the time...

..especially the american woman narrating. I knew the format would be lost on my regular tv but thought it would have captivated me more. Put it on your list but don't get too excited when the dvd drops through the letterbox! At least its only 40 mins!
