An unscrupulous wife and her foul lover's plan to murder her husband goes awry in this cheap thriller. Impact has a tense, promising start, full of nastiness and film noir attributes. The energy soon deflates into a dull detective investigation and a listless love story, set in wholesome surroundings with a continuous soundtrack of sloppy strings. The film's attempt to unravel an increasingly intricate plot fails due to poor direction and the 111 minute running time, far too long for a B-movie, allows a leisurely pace which becomes excruciating.
