Film historians seeking the quintessential ham performance by William Shatner would be advised to choose this mid-seventies effort, made during Shatner's lowest career point after Star Trek. Ruth Roman's little girl can't convince her that her new boyfriend (guess who) is really a psychotic murderer. Shatner, sporting a different hairstyle in almost every shot, sucks his pinkie, jumps up and down as if he has to go to the bathroom, twists his face into indescribable expressions, and uses his famous stop/start enunciation to ludicrous extremes. His performance alone makes this a must for bad movie fans, but if you need further incentive, there's an appearance by Harold Oddjob Sakata as Karate Pete.
Kirk, Kirk ,Kirk Oh how could you have fallen this low? Within minutes I was desperate to be beamed up to anywhere away from this film, even to an underground penal colony of the Klingon empire where my days and nights would be spent licking the sores of leprous space cons. I found this film to be truly, madly and deeply awful.
I hope these comments can be of some help to someone.
