IN HELL is a violent and gritty prison drama, and is somewhat of a comeback for Van Damme. He stars as Kyle Lord banged up in the harshest of jails, where he has to fight tooth and nail to survive. The Marquezas prison, built in the depths of the Mexican swamps, is a high security unit where Lord has been sent for killing his wife's murderer. The inmates must endure a savage game called The Shu, where they must fight one another--with deadly consequences--for the sport and profit of the corrupt guards. When Lord wins in The Shu, he is sent to the Victor's circle and finds himself becoming as savage as those around him.
IN HELL reunites Van Damme and Hong Kong director Ringo Lam from 2001's REPLICANT, and features the collosal Michael Bailey Smith (MEN IN BLACK 2, BLOOD SHOT) as Van Damme's nemesis Valia. This is a highly charged film of raw prison fighting, Marquezas is a living hell.

    Pretty Good

    I was really surprised with this latest offering from Van Damn.

    I can't understand all the negative comments from other users as my wife, my brother and his girlfriend as well as me all thoroughly enjoyed it.

    Van Damn has had some flops lately but this one has a decent storyline and pretty good acting. I guess the problem for some may have been the wait for the action sequences.

    Check it out, bit different to the usual Van Damn but worth seeing.

    Surprised

    Unlike the JCVD, we have all come to love, with his fights,(impossible ones), crashes, explosions and general fun special effects, this shows a rather subduded hero, in a rather terrible Russion prison, fighting the system, the baddies, and those who have desires for his bum!.Enjoyable, gory, violent,but not the old type hero, we expect from JCVD.
